The FT-VEST Folder automatically sorts, folds and stacks a variety of dry goods. The most multi-dimensional Girbau Industrial folder, it properly folds garments, towels, table linens, napkins, bath mats, hospital gowns and airline blankets. Designed to save labor and boost production, the FT-VEST eliminates dry good pre-sorting for superior productivity!
Heightens Productivity
The FT-VEST folds up to 800 pieces per hour, or 1,200 by inserting towels on an additional table (optional). Easy to program and operate, the FT-VEST will sort, fold and stack four differently sized items ranging from 7.08 x 9.2 and 16.4 x 22.8 inches in size.
Sorts, Folds, Stacks
The FT-VEST eliminates laundry pre-sorting and associated labor hours. Instead, a variety of items can be fed into the machine one after another – where they are automatically folded according to a pre-programmed fold specification, sorted and stacked. As a result, the FT-VEST allows laundries to wash and dry different items – such as hospital gowns, towels and bath mats – in one load.
Feeding
Thanks to a top belt and automatic suction that work together to hold items in place, it's simple to feed articles into the FT-VEST. No pre-sorting is needed!
Folding & Stacking
The FT-VEST offers superb flexibility and is programmable to create primary and secondary folds. The folding table, which automatically adjusts to the width of the items, uses four mechanical folding flaps and a vaccuum system for precise folding. The width and type of folds are automatically adjusted according to the dimensions of the article, and the number of flaps, widths, calibrations and folds are programmable. Once folded and stacked, the items are deposited in lifting trays, where the stacks are neatly leveled, pressed and expelled. The folding table is 59.05 inches in length.
Return Headstock with Sleeve Folding
The FT-VEST comes equipped with an upper headstock that allows items to be turned over for folding in the front position. It also performs sleeve folding. This capability is especially critical for operations that process multiple types of garments.
Extraction and Storing
Stacks of goods are collected at each stacker's discharge point – either to the right or left. The stacks can be extracted on independent belts (standard), or one common belt (optional).
Programmability
The FT-VEST’s microprocessor control offers an easy-to-use graphic display that delivers total control over the folding, sorting and stacking of different items. Each of the programmed items can be folded according to a variety of specifications, including primary- and cross-fold options. Finally, the control allows users to select the number of stacks needed, and stacks items according to their dimensions.

Options:
- Common Stacker Discharging: This option includes a common collecting belt plus a sloping conveyor which places folded items at a height where they can be comfortably collected.
- Indirect Feeding Table with Pre-Folding (59.05 inches long): The indirect table aids the insertion of items. It also offers pre-folding, which allows long articles, such as trousers, to be folded. Fitted before the main folding table, the Indirect Feeding Table can handle items of up to 70.8 inches long.
- Additional Table for Inserting Towels with Direct Feeding: This options allows towels to be fed into the folder via an indirect table positioned in the opposite direction of the garment feeding belt – improving overall productivity!
